My plan (shown below) is to ride to the end of the Cowboy Trail in Valentine, Nebraska. After that, rail trails are mostly missing until Idaho. (Ref. interactive map above.) I have already ridden the Coeur d'Alenes trail across Idaho, and have ridden across the state of Washington, just not on rail trails. So I have no plans to drive across the country just to complete that last state.

I have already ridden 500 (red highlight) of the 2,000 miles from DC to Valentine and plan to split the remaining 1,500 miles across three summers, 2027 through 2029 (yellow highlight). This means 1,000 miles per summer due to my out-and-back riding style.
